---->see I told you I'd blog it...
So you wanna know why I won't join dance again? well here you go (enjoy!) :
Reason #1 : It's a complete waste of my time. I could be doing other things, like having a life, instead I'd be in stack high CD cases with a billion songs I have to listen to, because yes, I'm a people-pleaser.
Reason #2 : The responsibility of head-on captain is a joke. Sure you get money for it, but personally i think you dont get paid enough.
Reason #3 : The stress it causes in general. From running an entire class by myself (dealing with whining 18 year olds that think I'm totally incapable of teaching a simple dance class) to coordinating an entire performance. That doesn't include the fact that I, as the head captain, have to coordinate the entire dance routine (not just one, but five!) which takes about 3 weeks in general to learn one stinking routine.
Reason #4 : Expenses! w00t! Most of the time, I have to spend my own money that I get from the dance company because they don't fund enough to support us. Plus the fact that its all the way the hell in Belen, thats a lot of gas money already.
Reason #5 : The ungodly schedules. Being a part of this dance company means you don't have a life. You're there the entire day. Here's what I had to deal with --> Wake up at 2 AM (!!!) to get there at 3 AM for CLASS and stay there until 5:30 AM, Get home at 6:30, get ready for school. School from 7 AM to 2:30 PM, then off to Marching band until 4:15. On Mondays and sometimes Thursdays I'd go back to HS for colorguard rehearsal at 6 to 8 PM. Then dance will schedule me at 9 PM to 10 PM. I'll be late because of guard rehearsal so that means I'll have to stay later to make up for the time and I'd still have to run that stinkin lap around the building. So i'll get home close to midnight and I have to still do homework. THen they'll do something stupid like schedule me the same hours so I wont have time to even sleep.
Reason #6 : I hate the stupid requirements dance involved. Gymnastics and Modeling. *curses* even finishing school. Meaning... I'd still have to make room for these on my schedule... yeah--what room on my schedule? There isn't any! So... I had to alternate between them. on my dance and finishing school days off, I'd have to go to gymnastics and modeling, and vice versa. So I had to resort to creating routines for dance during school which you would imagine destroyed my grades.
Reason #7 : I hated the staff, of course, they hated me too. But hey, they couldn't fire me, they couldn't do jack to me- I was running their entire program. I could do whatever I want. But i still hated them. The criticism sucked.
Reason #8 : Marching band was heck of a lot more important to me than dance was and marching band and dance has conflicting rehearsal times, which ultimately lead me to quit dance completely.
ahh yes.. my fabulous 8 reasons. Hope you enjoyed it.
oh and dont get me wrong. Dance was ridiculously fun, just didnt' have the time----
